Job Title: DCS Engineer Duration: 12 Months Schedule: Rotational position (4 weeks on / 4 weeks off), on-site Location: Afungi Site, Northern Mozambique This opportunity supports a major LNG project involving onshore facilities, utilities, storage and large-scale site infrastructure in a remote, high-complexity environment. The role focuses on the technical integrity, installation, integration, testing and operability of ICSS, DCS and PLC systems across construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover. It offers exposure to complex control and safety systems, package PLC integration and multidisciplinary interfaces across EPC delivery. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, project requirements, applicable standards and technical referential for control and safety systems. Review and validate technical documentation including system architecture, I/O lists, logic diagrams, cause and effect matrices, network topologies and cybersecurity requirements. Support resolution of design inconsistencies and missing information in coordination with engineering centres and EPC engineering teams. Contribute to design improvements that support operability, maintainability and reliability of control and safety systems. Support installation of control system equipment including cabinets, marshalling panels, safety logic solvers, controllers, servers, networks, workstations, F&G panels, PLC cabinets and junction boxes. Review inspection and test plans, method statements and inspection reports to confirm alignment with engineering deliverables. Participate in walkdowns, inspections and testing activities including continuity testing, insulation testing, loop checks and Ex inspections. Support preservation, storage and handling of sensitive control equipment during construction. Provide timely technical support for site queries, deviations, NCRs and troubleshooting to support construction progress. Support preparation, review and implementation of pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for ICSS, DCS and PLC systems. Participate in SAT activities for DCS, ESD, F&G and package PLC systems. Witness key tests including I/O loop checks, logic testing, sequence tests, system performance tests, network redundancy checks and package PLC to ICSS integration testing. Support punch list management, as-commissioned documentation and readiness for start-up and handover. Coordinate with package vendors for PLC integration across compressors, generators, HVAC, pumps, analysers and other systems. Validate communication interfaces including Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, hardwired I/O and serial links. Support implementation of cybersecurity controls including access control, antivirus, USB control and configuration management. Coordinate interfaces across process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, telecom, subsea, marine, commissioning and operations functions. Support integration of EMCS, EMS, subsea control systems, analysers, metering, HVAC control, telecoms and safety systems. Promote compliance with project HSE and quality requirements, including safe control system intervention practices. Report discipline progress, technical risks, issues and priorities, while supporting the maintenance of as-built drawings, loop folders, logic diagrams and network drawings. Required Education & Certifications: Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Engineering or equivalent (Required) Required Experience: 8+ years of experience in DCS, ICSS or PLC engineering and execution on major oil and gas or LNG projects Experience working with large EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project execution Experience across construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities Experience working in remote, high-complexity project environments Required Skills: Strong knowledge of DCS and PCS systems Strong knowledge of ESD, SIS and F&G systems Strong knowledge of package PLCs and industrial communication protocols Knowledge of safety lifecycle, HAZOP and LOPA Familiarity with site construction and commissioning workflows Strong HSE awareness including LOTO, PTW and electrical isolation practices English language proficiency Ability to work with high autonomy and adaptability in a multicultural environment Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Knowledge of TotalEnergies GS/CR referential French language skills Portuguese language skills About Airswift: Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, technology, process and infrastructure industries.
