Role Synopsis We are seeking a Development Systems Engineer to join our Corporate Asset Development team. This role will act as a business solutions architect bridging technical delivery to business operations and translating business needs into scalable automation and AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivers high-quality work product, and is passionate about leveraging modern AI and data tools to drive operational efficiency. Key Accountabilities Serve as a technical liaison between the data team and business units, translating business requirements into actionable technical solutions. Design, develop, and deploy automation workflows and AI-powered tools that streamline business processes and reduce manual effort. Build and maintain data pipelines, queries, and analytical products using Snowflake and Databricks. Leverage Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools to rapidly prototype, iterate, and deliver production-quality solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify high-impact automation opportunities and prioritize development efforts. Ensure all solutions adhere to organizational data architectural standards, governance policies, and security requirements. Develop documentation, training materials, and user guides to enable business unit adoption of new tools. Participate in code reviews, solution design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor and optimize deployed solutions for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Essential Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in a technical role involving software development, data engineering, or automation. Proficiency in Python and SQL with demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code. Hands-on experience with Snowflake (querying, data modeling, performance optimization). Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, specifically Claude Code or similar LLM-based coding assistants. Moderate understanding of data architecture principles including data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, data governance, and lakehouse architecture. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality results in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Criteria Experience in the energy or oil & gas industry. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and software development best practices. Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or self-service analytics platforms. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code concepts. Experience with prompt engineering, RAG architectures, or deploying LLM-based applications. Exposure to data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Databricks Workflows). Compensation & Benefits How much do we pay (Base)? $128,000-$151,000 Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
