Introduction We have an exciting opportunity for an Applications Support technical specialist to join our global Survey team.  The role will work from our Rio de Janeiro office in Brazil. Thinking of applying? The successful candidate will be an experienced subsea survey professional with expertise in EIVA NaviSuite and offshore positioning operations within subsea construction and pipelay projects. Skills required are a solid understanding of survey systems and sensors, including GNSS, USBL, LBL, INS and multibeam echosounders, together with experience in sensor calibration, quality control, fault-finding and basic network communications to support safe and efficient offshore operations. Applicants should be fluent in Portuguese with English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR Level B2 (Upper Intermediate) or higher, with the ability to read, translate and develop technical documentation, understand verbal instructions, and prepare clear written reports, emails and other correspondence in English. What will you be doing? Providing operational assistance to both offshore and onshore personnel in the performance of subsea survey operations. Primarily supporting non-survey personnel onboard the Brazil PLSV fleet in the correct use of survey equipment and software. Provides day to day operational support in survey software and equipment associated with regional PLSV and SURF operations Develops and maintains support and operational documentation specific to the local PLSV fleet Periodic vessel visits and offshore rotations to provide onboard training, auditing of Survey systems and setup and perform annual vessel and ROV system calibrations Contributes to the global Survey knowledgebase through technical articles, lessons learned and other activities Conducts remote assistance sessions with end users as required Assists in the review and quality control of calibrations, verifications and dimensional control reports Participates as a support agent in the company Survey Helpdesk system providing technical support by email, web, Teams and phone Liaises with third party technical support teams as required Presents and demonstrates at technical training events Assists the Electronics Workshop with the configuration of survey software systems Performs integration and functional testing of survey equipment and software Assists Project Surveyors as required with yard or vessel visits in support of project operations Assists Survey Operations Manager in the material tracking and logistics of locally based Survey equipment for projects Reporting to the Survey Operations Manager, GPC West Brazil, the role has a functional reporting line to the global Survey Helpdesk and associated Survey Applications and Survey Engineering teams.  This ensures that issues raised locally are appropriately registered within the support system and addressed in a timely and consistent manner in line with global standards. Effective business relationships should be established with internal and external parties.  This includes supplier’s technical support teams, Offshore Management, Marine and Operational personnel, and survey project and technical personnel both on and offshore.
