Field Operator – Well Testing Project Supporting On-Location Well Testing Execution Through Front-Line Equipment Handling and Safe Field Operations Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company serving the oil and gas sector across more than 120 countries. The Well Testing Project team supports customer exploration, appraisal, completion, production, and intervention activities by delivering safe and reliable well testing, flowback, clean-up, surface testing, production testing, pressure control, data acquisition, and related wellsite services. By combining technical expertise, supervisory discipline, and strong field execution, the team helps customers evaluate reservoir performance, confirm well deliverability, and make informed operational decisions. Fuel your passion The Field Operator role supports Well Testing Projects by working as a front-line field team member at customer locations, assisting with equipment preparation, rig-up, operation support, monitoring, housekeeping, and rig-down activities. This role works under the direction of Field Specialists, supervisors, and engineers to help ensure equipment is handled safely, jobs are executed efficiently, and service delivery meets Baker Hughes and customer requirements. As the Field Operator – Well Testing Project, you will have the following responsibilities: • Support on-location well testing activities, including equipment mobilization, job site preparation, rig-up, pressure testing support, flow operations support, sampling assistance, flowback, clean-up, rig-down, and demobilization. • Act as a front-line equipment handler by preparing, inspecting, connecting, operating under supervision, cleaning, and securing well testing equipment in accordance with procedures and supervisor instructions. • Assist with the handling of test separators, choke manifolds, flowlines, burners, tanks, hoses, valves, fittings, pressure control equipment, sand management equipment, emergency shutdown systems, and data acquisition support equipment. • Follow instructions from Field Specialists, supervisors, and engineers during daily field operations to ensure safe task execution, effective teamwork, proper equipment positioning, and timely completion of assigned activities. • Conduct basic visual checks, housekeeping, equipment preparation, hose and line management, lifting support, material movement, and routine operational support to maintain a safe and organized worksite. • Monitor basic equipment condition and wellsite observations, including leaks, abnormal vibration, pressure concerns, equipment damage, unsafe conditions, or operational deviations, and report them immediately to the responsible supervisor. • Support HSE and service quality requirements by participating in toolbox talks, job safety analysis, permit-to-work compliance, stop-work authority, manual handling controls, pressure control discipline, and environmental protection practices. • Assist with field documentation and job close-out activities, including equipment checklists, maintenance notes, inventory movement, job tickets, handover notes, and reporting of equipment issues after job completion. To be successful in this role, you will: • Have a high school diploma, technical diploma, or equivalent technical qualification, with practical experience in oil and gas field operations or wellsite service activities. • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in oil and gas well testing, surface testing, production testing, flowback, clean-up, pressure pumping, or related wellsite service operations. • Demonstrate basic knowledge of wellsite operations, equipment handling, rig-up and rig-down activities, pressure testing support, hose and line handling, valve operation, and safe manual handling practices. • Be able to follow supervisor instructions, job procedures, equipment checklists, safety requirements, and customer site rules in demanding field environments. • Show good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, teamwork, discipline, willingness to learn, and commitment to supporting reliable equipment readiness and service delivery. • Be committed to HSE, compliance, pressure control discipline, stop-work authority, housekeeping, environmental responsibility, and safe execution of all well testing project activities. • Have basic communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, crew members, and customers during field operations.
