Principal Subsea Umbilical And Controls Engineer

Lead the engineering, design and delivery of subsea umbilical and controls systems for offshore development projects. Support Concept, FEED, Detailed Design, Tendering and EPCI project execution activities. Develop and review engineering deliverables including: Design Basis Technical Specifications Engineering Reports Procedures Data Sheets Technical Evaluations Define and specify subsea umbilical systems and associated hardware. Evaluate vendor proposals and recommend suitable technical solutions. Manage interfaces between: Subsea Controls Systems Umbilicals SSIV Actuators Subsea Production Equipment Installation Contractors Coordinate engineering activities with Procurement, Quality, Fabrication, Marine and Project Management teams. Review supplier documentation, manufacturing processes and qualification activities. Support technical risk assessments and technology readiness evaluations. Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, design reviews and technical workshops. Provide engineering support during manufacturing, testing, transportation, installation and offshore commissioning. Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout project execution. Support troubleshooting and technical issue resolution during project delivery. Participate in client meetings, vendor meetings, audits and offshore site visits as required. Ensure deliverables are completed safely, on schedule and within budget. Leadership Responsibilities Lead and supervise small to medium-sized subsea engineering teams. Manage project scope, deliverables, manpower requirements and schedules. Act as discipline focal point for client and project stakeholders. Coordinate multidisciplinary activities across engineering and project teams. Support bid preparations, technical proposals and manpower estimates. Monitor engineering performance, progress and productivity. Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers. Ensure compliance with company procedures, client specifications and industry standards.
