Development and Production Geoscientist Contractor Job Description
Development & Production Geoscientists require work at the field scale, focusing on high grading development inventory through 3D reservoir characterization. They deliver accurate subsurface descriptions and communicate key risks and uncertainties supporting business investment decisions. Development & Production Geoscientists integrate and interpret geological and geophysical data to develop appraisal strategies, field scale development plans and execute drilling programs. Typical datasets for integration include seismic, logs, fluids, and core, which are to be used to build subsurface prediction models. The role requires collaboration with engineering colleagues on reservoir characterization, well planning, drilling execution and technology development.
What you will do
Ability to comprehend, integrate knowledge, ideas and skills to solve geological problems
Plan and execute developments with integrated teams
Evaluate appraisal potential through prospect generation, maturation, and drilling
Ability to integrate diverse datasets across multiple scales (seismic, log, core) to build subsurface interpretations
Must be able to work effectively within and across diverse multi-discipline team environments
About you
Skills and Qualifications
Master of Science (M.S.) degree in a relevant discipline
Three or more years of experience in a relevant industry
One or more of the following skills is desirable:
Effective quantitative interpretation skills with ability to work independently
Experience in well planning and execution to support drilling operations
Experience in building integrated, regionally consistent, core-, well- and seismic-constrained interpretations
Ability to use any of the following software: Kingdom, Petra, Petrel
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
Ability to integrate geoscience skills and knowledge, varied data sets, analogs and ideas to solve geological problems to support the business, independently. Provide sound judgment, timeliness and aptitude in application of geoscience tools and techniques; and, desire to maintain competitive advantage leveraging prior experiences. Experience with Unconventional reservoirs preferred. Permian Basin experience desired.
