What role you will play in our team
Provide support to the Well Engineering team to design and implement well drilling and surveillance programs at all Imperial assets, including the thermal in-situ operations at Cold Lake and the mining operations at Kearl.
What you will do
Assist with design of drilling programs and procedures and provide technical analyses on well trajectory, tubular design, and torque and drag
Work with drilling engineers and cross functional disciplines to implement design improvements and/or field trials on well equipment or procedures
Lead offset well reviews to investigate drilling problems and benchmark performance with industry peers to support best in class well delivery
Assist drilling engineers with rig surveillance including performance benchmarking, continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to internal best practices
Lead or participate in morning rig calls, drilling technical reviews, or risk assessments
Identify new well opportunities, efficiencies or technical trials, evaluate risks and benefits, and lead implementation
Work with suppliers to redesign and trial new equipment, tools and technologies to improve drilling cost and reliability
Participate in technical training, technical reviews, or workshops
About you
Skills and Qualifications:
Second or Third Year of an engineering program at a Canadian accredited university
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a Canadian Accredited University
Your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application
Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
Prior oil and gas or industrial experience is an asset
Role best suited for Petroleum, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering programs
