Entity: Technology Job Family Group: Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group Job Description: Sourcing Lead supports various BP businesses with a range of medium to high complexity sourcing and contracting activities. In addition to sourcing and contracting, this role is responsible for developing relationships with suppliers, business partners and Finance counterparts, plus proactively identifying value opportunities. This includes demand management, definition of sourcing strategy based on a predefined category framework, source selection, and contract drafting, negotiation & maintenance. The ideal candidate should have experience in sourcing of construction materials, maintenance services, convenience item/equipment, and/or facility and maintenance services, knowledge of contracts and legal terms, sourcing strategy preparation, coupled with a strong commercial orientation, communication and partner management skills. Whilst a Sourcing Lead is an individual contributor, significant level of autonomy is provided and expected within the role to manage sourcing projects related to demand from bp’s Customer and Products businesses. You will tap into your expertise in strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationships to deliver value, drive efficiency, and ensure robust project delivery, inclusive of the following activities: Demand Management Support business partners on the definition of critical success factors Case Management Process activities compliance Sourcing Strategy Supplier Selection Contracting Contract Operationalization Supplier Management Across activity sets, it’s paramount to ensure that all requests and Scopes of Work liaise with partners to ensure all business requirements are considered/met; the ideal candidate will: Lead the development and execution of strategies for various end-to-end sourcing and contracting projects of high spend & complexity. Ensure that the business requirements are well-understood and properly covered in the sourcing process. Influence business demand where required and possible. Conduct comprehensive market analysis and supplier landscaping to identify optimal sourcing opportunities. Identify value levers and opportunities to enhance value for BP in the marketplace Contribute to the development of the respective category strategies from a sourcing perspective. Develop Sourcing strategies, including options & scenarios adhering to the respective Category strategy. Define approach to market and develop source selection criteria based on the business priorities and requirements. Manage and coordinate the supplier selection process to ensure the most ideal option is chosen Manage all relevant partner and supplier interactions including the relationship with senior levels throughout the sourcing project Define negotiation strategy, negotiate and agree on relevant contract terms with suppliers Define contracting strategy, develop and modify contract content based on templates and manage the approval process Propose potential modifications/updates to the relevant contract templates based on category specific requirements Generate reports (status, summary etc.) and analyze data depending on the project requirements Take an innovative approach and lead continuous process improvement initiatives Align with BP’s Code of Conduct, taking a professional and disciplined approach to working with suppliers, to ensure transparency, consistency and fairness. Our procurement and supply chain management principles are always applied within that framework and in the context of relevant laws and regulations Align with all BP’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures Leverage Digital Fluency to enhance sourcing efficiency and adopt new technologies. Essential Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required (preferably in business or supply chain management studies) Procurement related professional certification is an advantage Any certification in Supply Chain Management is welcomed Essential Experience And Job Requirement Fluency in English is a must (verbal & written) Minimum 4-6 years of practical and application experience in end-to-end sourcing of services and commodities, drafting and negotiating contracts and legal terms, sourcing strategy preparation, coupled with a strong commercial orientation and communication skills Category-specific experience in construction, maintenance works, convenience, equipment and services procurement, and/or facility and maintenance services preferred Ability to provide professional leadership, coordinate and mentor junior team members as and when necessary Ability to review and analyze complex data to identify issues and trends Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners, even at senior levels Track record of successful Procurement delivery in complex, challenging international environments Proven experience with contract creation, negotiations and lif
