Outage Scheduler Position Summary We are is seeking an experienced
Outage Scheduler
to support a planned power plant outage in New Roads, Louisiana. The Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed outage schedules to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and within established timelines. The ideal candidate will have experience scheduling maintenance and outage activities in power generation facilities and be proficient with
Primavera P6
and
Maximo
.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed outage schedules using Primavera P6.
Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Contractors, and Project Management teams to establish outage scope and work sequences.
Monitor outage progress and update schedules daily to reflect actual performance.
Identify schedule risks, delays, and resource constraints, and communicate recovery plans to stakeholders.
Utilize Maximo to review work orders, labor requirements, and maintenance activities.
Generate daily, weekly, and outage status reports for plant leadership.
Track critical path activities and provide recommendations to minimize downtime.
Facilitate planning and scheduling meetings before and during the outage.
Ensure schedules align with site safety requirements and outage objectives.
Support outage closeout activities and post-outage schedule analysis.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of scheduling experience in power generation, industrial manufacturing, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
Proficient with
Primavera P6
scheduling software.
Experience using
IBM Maximo
or similar CMMS platforms.
Strong understanding of maintenance planning, outage execution, and turnaround processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work packages, and project plans.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting combined cycle, cogeneration, fossil fuel, or utility power plants.
Prior outage or turnaround scheduling experience.
Knowledge of critical path methodology (CPM) scheduling.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related discipline.
