Job Family Group: Research & Technology Group Job Description: Role Synopsis: In a constantly changing technology landscape, in-house legal functions find themselves at the cutting edge of innovation. If you want to shape the future direction of how legal brings value for our business, then this opportunity is for you: Support the design, development, and delivery of innovative solutions to enhance legal service delivery, productivity and value creation. Work closely with our legal teams and legal operations teams to find opportunities and translate them into scalable solutions. Design, configure solutions, ensuring they are fit for purpose, using legal technology platforms such as low code / no code platforms, document automation tools, workflow platforms, document management and matter management platforms, and AI / agentic systems. Design, run and contribute to innovation projects, proof of concept builds, and data-driven process enhancements. Lead and run analysis, design and support efforts to help our teams successfully adopt technologies – planning and leading initiatives to ensure we are ‘customer’ focused on our delivery. Key Accountabilities: Partner: Work in partnership with our Technology colleagues to ensure successful delivery into the bp technology ecosystem Requirements gathering and solution design: Look to solve problems, bringing an engineering approach to understand and solve the challenges facing the in-house legal team of the future. Work with internal teams to capture difficulties and translate them into new and innovative ways of working. Design and run workshops to facilitate design and requirements capture. Solution Delivery: Be accountable for designing, configuring and deploying legal solutions supported by our technology colleagues onto our platforms (e.g., document automation / creation, workflow automation, document management, matter management, AI agentic low code / no-code platforms, Legal AI productivity platforms and tools). Continuous Improvement: Find opportunities to streamline processes, solve novel problems and / or enhance tools and processes based on user feedback, industry advances and emerging guidelines. Be proactive and execimplementrovements when the opportunity arises Support, training and adoption be the face of our solutions to our colleagues, support adoption and help design and deliver training to help embed them into ways of working. Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct reviews and assessments of new features, upgrades, and enhancements to ensure functionality meets colleagues’ expectations and requirements. Review test results for quality and plan releases into our roadmaps with our technology colleagues. Documentation: Design, create and maintain documentation covering processes, playbooks, configurations, solving steps, and standard operating procedures to help adoption, knowledge sharing and business continuity. Data & Reporting: Use data to tell stories. Understand our data and use it to monitor colleague adoption and success metrics. Governance & Compliance: Support our technology teams to ensure that solutions align with legal, security, and data privacy requirements. Work closely with our teams to ensure these standards are met and we work within their guidelines Essential Education: Bachelor’s degree or relevant qualification / experience in one of the following (or equivalent experience): Law Computer Science / Information Systems LegalTech / Legal Innovation Business, STEM, or related subject area with demonstrable interest and experience in legal technology Equivalent demonstrable professional experience or vocational training in legal technology or operations will also be considered, as will transferable experience in another sector that demonstrates the key skills required for the role Essential Experience and Job Requirements: The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate or show experience of the following: Experience of 2-5 years in legal services, legal operations, technology support, working as a lawyer or professional services. Familiarity with legal technology platforms and concepts (e.g., document automation, CLM, eDiscovery, legal AI tools, workflow platforms), demonstrating understanding of key concepts, implementation, design and rollout experience. Familiarity with AI concepts, platforms and tools (ML, GenAI, Agentic) Demonstrate facilitation, requirements analysis and process / operational design skills Demonstrate understanding of solution configuration, data handling, or low code/no code workflows. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize feature work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
