Partner with the best As an HSE Technical Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for the management, coordination, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems across the Newcastle facility. You will support compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices through auditing, assurance activities, statutory compliance monitoring, and management system improvements. You will act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, external providers, and customers while helping strengthen operational compliance, risk control, and HSE performance across the site. As an HSE Technical Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for: HSE Documentation & Procedure Management Managing, reviewing, and updating HSE procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards. Maintaining HSE documentation and ensuring document control processes are effectively managed. Ensuring obsolete documentation is removed and archived in accordance with established procedures. Statutory Inspection Compliance Monitoring compliance with statutory inspections, examinations, and testing requirements. Tracking and reporting statutory compliance performance metrics to site leadership. Coordinating closure of actions arising from inspections and examinations. Conducting periodic compliance reviews to verify alignment with legislative requirements. Environmental Compliance Maintaining awareness of environmental legislation and permit requirements applicable to site operations. Supporting environmental audits, inspections, and compliance assessments. Coordinating environmental assessments and associated improvement plans. Supporting waste management, spill prevention, and pollution prevention programs. Monitoring the completion of environmental compliance actions. Improvement Projects Maintaining an annual HSE improvement project plan. Tracking progress of improvement initiatives against agreed milestones and deliverables. Providing management updates on project status, risks, and opportunities. Technical Oversight & Regulatory Compliance Leading the site HSE self‑assessment program and coordinating compliance activities with process owners. Conducting detailed gap analyses against: Company procedures Regulatory requirements Industry best practices Corporate HSE standards Developing action plans to address compliance gaps and strengthen operational controls. Driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions while verifying effectiveness. Providing technical HSE guidance within a manufacturing and engineering environment. Supporting compliance assurance activities associated with: LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) PSSR (Pressure Systems Safety Regulations) Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to integrate regulatory requirements into site procedures. Monitoring emerging legislation and industry developments and updating site systems accordingly. Maintaining the site's HSE Management System and ensuring alignment with corporate requirements. Supporting HSE planning activities and management system reviews. COSHH Management Maintaining and continuously improving the site's COSHH Management System and COSHH Register. Conducting and reviewing COSHH assessments. Providing guidance on hazardous substance management and exposure controls. Verifying appropriate implementation of engineering controls, LEV systems, PPE requirements, and safe systems of work. Reviewing Safety Data Sheets and assessing new substances before introduction to site. Identifying opportunities to eliminate, substitute, or reduce hazardous substance risks. Supporting investigations related to chemical exposure incidents and implementing corrective actions. Coordinating with Occupational Health providers regarding exposure monitoring and health surveillance requirements. Delivering awareness sessions and guidance related to hazardous substance management. Monitoring legislative developments and best practices related to COSHH compliance. Conducting workplace inspections and audits to verify effectiveness of controls. Bid & Tender Support Acting
