Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager
Location: Spokane, Washington
Salary: $80,000–$135,000 plus year-end bonus
Orion Group has been retained by an established, employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking a
Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager for its growing Spokane office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to manage varied infrastructure projects, lead technical teams and develop long-term client relationships. The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from initial planning through design and construction.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing project scope, schedules and budgets.
Leading the design and delivery of complex civil engineering projects.
Preparing and reviewing engineering plans, specifications, technical reports and cost estimates.
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and project staff.
Coordinating with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors and other project stakeholders.
Supporting construction administration and oversight when required.
Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Contributing to business-development activities, including proposals and client engagement.
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.
Project Types
You will have the opportunity to lead a varied portfolio of public- and private-sector projects, including:
Municipal water-distribution systems.
Sanitary sewer collection systems.
Water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Stormwater infrastructure.
Roads and highways.
Subdivision and land-development projects.
Commercial site design.
Federal government and military infrastructure projects.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally possess:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
At least five years of professional civil engineering experience.
A Washington Professional Engineer licence or the ability to obtain one within two years.
Experience managing civil engineering projects, including scope, schedule and budget responsibilities.
Strong technical knowledge across municipal infrastructure, land development or related civil engineering disciplines.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior engineering staff.
Experience managing client relationships and contributing to business-development activities.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
A detail-oriented, self-motivated and collaborative approach.
Previous experience living or working in Washington would be advantageous but is not essential.
Candidates who have strong technical experience and are ready to progress into a more substantial project-management position are also encouraged to apply. Project-management training and support can be provided where required.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a salary of
$80,000–$135,000
, depending on experience, education and qualifications, in addition to an annual performance bonus.
