Job Summary ConocoPhillips is seeking a skilled AI Application Developer to join our Petrotechnical Digital & AI Product Development team in Houston to build transformational tools to drive efficiency and elevate capabilities for Petrotechnical disciplines. In this role, you will design, build, and deliver modern full-stack applications and AI-driven solutions. You’ll work as an integral member of a cross-functional team — collaborating daily with software engineers, data analysts, and business end users to translate complex operational challenges into production-grade software. You’ll leverage AI coding assistants and agentic workflows to accelerate delivery and raise the bar on quality across the full development lifecycle. Position Overview Your responsibilities may include: Design and develop full-stack applications using .NET, React, and Blazor, from architecture through deployment Build and maintain cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure (App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, etc.) Write clean, testable code for data pipelines, APIs, and AI integrations Architect and implement AI-driven agentic solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, and related services Integrate multi-step AI workflows (tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, agent orchestration) into enterprise applications Use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Azure AI coding tools, Claude) as a standard part of your development workflow to improve velocity and code quality Partner closely with a cross-functional team of software engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business end users to gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver software that directly supports operational decision-making Serve as a technical bridge between analytical and engineering disciplines — translating business requirements from analysts and end users into well-architected, maintainable solutions Engage end users throughout the development cycle — conducting working sessions, incorporating feedback, and ensuring delivered applications solve real-world problems effectively Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipeline management, and DevSecOps practices Contribute to a team culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving Success Profile To thrive in this role, you’ll demonstrate the following leadership competencies: Takes Accountability: Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by courageously dealing with important problems, holding others accountable, and standing up for what is right. Required Qualifications: Legally authorized to work in the United States Current/Valid driver’s license 5 or more years of professional software development experience 3 or more years of experience designing and delivering AI agentic solutions — autonomous agents, multi-step reasoning workflows, or LLM-integrated applications within Azure 3 or more years of experience using AI coding assistants in a professional development environment 3 or more years of experience developing and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure 3 or more years of experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines 3 or more years of hands-on, front-end or scripting experience with one or more modern frameworks such as React, Blazor, or similar 3 or more years of experience with query languages on one or more of the following platforms: Snowflake, Azure SQL, NoSQL databases, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL 3 or more years of experience translating customer outcomes into technical design requirem
