What role you will play in our team We are seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for our Bengaluru, India location to work on challenging reservoir quality characterization projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of geologists, petrophysicists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers across ExxonMobil’s global portfolio. You will apply sedimentological, petrographic, diagenetic, and basin modeling techniques to evaluate reservoir quality, storage capacity, and fluid flow behavior in subsurface formations. The ideal candidate will integrate petrography, core, cuttings, well log, and seismic data to develop robust reservoir quality models that support exploration, development, production, and low-carbon initiatives such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). What You Will Do Define project objectives, work scopes, and deliverables in collaboration with ExxonMobil’s global Reservoir Quality community and Business Units. Analyze sediment properties, depositional facies, textures, and sedimentary structures to reconstruct depositional environments and reservoir evolution. Perform thin section descriptions, petrographic analysis, and point counting to identify mineralogy, textures, pore systems, and diagenetic features impacting reservoir quality. Evaluate porosity, permeability, and diagenetic controls within sedimentary facies and integrate findings with reservoir performance and production data. Conduct 1D basin modeling studies to predict reservoir quality evolution and property changes under varying burial and subsurface conditions. Integrate reservoir quality datasets, including cores, cuttings, petrographic data, well logs, and seismic interpretations, to understand structural and stratigraphic controls on reservoir properties. Develop and maintain reservoir quality models that characterize heterogeneity and support geological, petrophysical, and reservoir simulation workflows. Provide critical reservoir quality insights to optimize well placement, field development planning, and long-term reservoir management strategies. Evaluate, quality check, and interpret petrographic and reservoir quality reports from external laboratories and vendors. Collaborate closely with petrophysicists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and other geoscience disciplines to build integrated subsurface models. Apply reservoir quality workflows and geological characterization methodologies to low-carbon opportunities, including Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects. Support t
