Job Family Group: Retail Group Job Description: The Lead Field Merchandiser serves as the on-site leader of the Field Merchandising team and is responsible for the safe, accurate, efficient, and timely execution of store resets, reflows, cooler resets and refreshes, merchandising projects, and store organization initiatives across TA locations. This position leads the Field Merchandising team while working alongside team members to physically complete the project. The Lead Field Merchandiser is responsible for understanding the approved store layout and project scope, organizing the work, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, resolving field execution issues, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring the location is completed according to approved plans, planograms, merchandising standards, and BP/TA safety requirements. The Lead Field Merchandiser also serves as the primary on-site point of contact between the Field Merchandising team, store management, and Field Merchandising leadership throughout the project. This is a highly physical, hands-on leadership role requiring frequent travel, strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-moving retail environment. Key Responsibilities On-Site Team Leadership Serve as the day-to-day leader of the Field Merchandising team while on location. Review the project scope, store layout, planograms, timelines, and priorities before work begins. Establish a clear work plan for each day and communicate expectations to the team. Assign team members to specific sections, departments, coolers, fixtures, or other project responsibilities based on project needs. Coordinate the sequence of work to improve productivity while minimizing disruption to store operations and customers. Monitor team progress throughout the day and adjust assignments when necessary to keep the project on schedule. Work alongside the team and actively participate in resets, fixture work, merchandising, cooler resets, product movement, and other physical activities. Set the standard for work ethic, professionalism, urgency, teamwork, safety, and quality. Coach Field Merchandisers on proper execution techniques, merchandising standards, Planogram accuracy, and safe work practices. Identify performance or execution concerns and communicate them appropriately to Field Merchandising leadership. Safety Leadership Lead the team's compliance with all BP and TA safety policies, procedures, and protocols. Conduct appropriate safety discussions before work begins and when project conditions change. Ensure team members use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and approved tools and equipment. Ensure proper lifting, material-handling, ladder, cooler, equipment, and fixture-installation procedures are followed. Maintain safe and organized work areas throughout the project. Ensure merchandise, fixtures, equipment, tools, packaging, and other materials do not create hazards for customers or store employees. Immediately address unsafe behavior or conditions and call out safety concerns when necessary. Report injuries, incidents, damaged equipment, and other safety concerns according to established procedures. Ensure the store is left safe, clean, and customer-ready at the end of each workday. Project Planning & Execution Review and understand the complete project package before beginning work, including store layouts, floor plans, planograms, fixture requirements, merchandising instructions, signage requirements, and project timelines. Walk the location before beginning significant work to identify potential execution issues. Verify that required fixtures, supplies, merchandising materials, signage, and other project components are available. Develop an efficient sequence for completing the reset or reflow. Coordinate fixture movement, product staging, Planogram execution, cooler work, backroom organization, and other activities to prevent unnecessary rework. Track progress against the established project schedule. Identify barriers that could affect project completion and communicate them quickly to the appropriate leadership. Make appropriate field-level decisions within established guidelines while calling out changes that require approval. Ensure approved project scope is completed before the team leaves the location. Store Resets & Fixture Installation Lead and participate in complete and partial store resets, reflows, remodel support, and merchandising refreshes. Direct the tear-down, movement, assembly, rebuilding, leveling, and positioning of retail fixtures and shelving according to approved layouts. Ensure shelves, peg hooks, displays, racks, endcaps, merchandising accessories, and other fixtures are properly installed. Coordinate the safe movement and staging of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store. Verify that fixtures are positioned correctly before merchandising work begins.
