Instrument and Electrical Technician I or II - Location: Midland, Texas - Schedule: 5/2, 8 hours - Start date: ASAP - Duration: 1 year initially with possibility of extension Airswift is recruiting for an Instrument and Electrical Technician I or II opportunity with a leading company in the oil and gas sector, based in the Midland Basin. This company is seeking an Instrument and Electrical Technician I or II professional to support the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment used in production operations. The role offers the chance to work in a technically demanding processing environment, supporting safe and reliable equipment performance across critical systems. Key responsibilities: - Install and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment in line with company rules, standards, and procedures - Test and repair electrical and instrumentation systems used by production equipment - Evaluate system performance and develop repair plans - Document issues identified and actions taken - Oversee activities within assigned areas of responsibility with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental standards - Support collaboration across operations, engineering, and project teams - Review control specifications and work practices - Take responsibility for electrical and control systems in accordance with the Work Management Manual - Apply and follow work permits through the Permit To Work System - Ensure the quality and timely completion of maintenance activities - Provide technical support for maintenance and troubleshooting of instrument and electrical systems - Generate and support Management of Change requests relating to electrical and control equipment - Monitor and inspect new installations and recommend upgrades where required - Act as stand-in for the Instrument and Electrical Lead position when needed - Attend and deliver technical meetings as required to keep teams informed on specifications, codes, procedures, and technology Required qualifications and experience: - Associate degree, preferably supported by related technical school courses - Experience maintaining electrical systems and instruments and controls in a processing plant or offshore production plant - Familiarity with regulations applicable to oil and gas facility operations - Knowledge of OIMS systems, related manuals, and procedures - Ability to meet safety, administrative, and technical training requirements linked to the position - General computing skills Key skills: - Strong troubleshooting and analytical capability - Good communication skills - Good organisational and reporting skills - High attention to detail - Safety-oriented approach - Ability to support team development and technical knowledge sharing This Instrument and Electrical Technician I or II position is well suited to candidates looking to apply hands-on electrical and instrumentation expertise in a safety-sensitive operational setting.
