Senior OTS Trainer

Job Title: Senior OTS Trainer Duration: 12 months Schedule: Monday - Friday Location: Milan, Italy This opportunity supports a major LNG plant project preparing for start-up and ramp-up within a complex onshore production environment. The role focuses on Operator Training Simulator leadership, panel operator training, competency development, and validation of operating procedures across utilities, gas treatment, liquefaction, storage and loading systems. This position offers the chance to make a direct impact on operational readiness, emergency response capability, and long-term workforce competence in a technically demanding LNG setting. Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Applied Science or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent recognised qualification supported by strong relevant experience. Required Experience: Minimum 10 years of production experience within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry. Minimum 5 years of panel operator experience in an LNG liquefaction plant environment. Hands-on experience using an Operator Training Simulator, including delivery of training exercises and simulator-based operational support. Experience supporting operator competency and qualification programmes, including assessment of panel operators and development of trainees to full qualification. Experience reviewing, writing, or validating operating procedures covering start-up, shutdown, cooldown, troubleshooting, and emergency shutdown activities. Experience working with cross-functional technical teams, including process engineering and DCS or ICSS engineering interfaces. Required Skills: Excellent knowledge of DCS panel operations and integrated control and safety systems, including safety shutdown systems. Strong technical understanding of natural gas treatment, LNG liquefaction, storage and loading, utilities, inlet facilities, and MEG systems. Ability to troubleshoot process upsets and support plant emergency response from a control room operations perspective. Capability to develop and implement structured training programmes, training materials, records, and assessment standards. Ability to maintain simulator alignment with plant configuration and support routine system maintenance activities including updates, patches, health checks, and licence management. Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines. Effective communication skills with fluent written and spoken English. Good knowledge of HSE and environmental management systems. Proficiency with Windows office applications. Preferred Qualifications: Portuguese language capability. Experience with Schneider Electric platforms, including Foxboro or EcoStruxure. Experience following a facility from commissioning through to steady-state operations.
