Project Overview Our Client is seeking to contract a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the execution of a Battery Materials manufacturing project.  The project scope is divided between two facilities in Franklin, Louisiana (Canal Facility), and Pampa, Texas. The major systems at Canal include process equipment (milling systems, solids handling equipment, compressors, cooling systems, etc.), building services, site-wide systems (grounding, area classification, lighting, etc.), incoming high voltage feed, and stepdown station(s). The Canal project has completed the early development phase and has advanced to the pre-FEED Capital Phase 2, (Alternatives Analysis). The major systems at Pampa include process equipment (electrical furnaces, solids handling equipment, drying systems, compressors, etc.), building services, site-wide systems (grounding, area classification, lighting, etc.), incoming high voltage feed, and stepdown station. The Pampa project has completed the pre-FEED Capital Phase 2, (Alternatives Analysis) and has advanced to the FEED Capital Phase 3, (Front End Engineering and Design). Both parts of the project will be executed with a 3rd party Engineering Firm. The following has already been completed: Project manager in place Technical Team in place Pampa Capital project phase 2 (Pre-FEED) complete Canal Project Approval received from Capital Project Phase 2 Pampa Project Approval received for Capital Project Phase 3 (FEED) 3rd party Engineer to start work mid-August 2026 The project schedule is as follows: Pampa Phase 3 Engineering / Long Lead Procurement:   Sept 2026 – Feb 2027 Detailed Eng. & Construction:                                 Mar 2027 – July 2028 Commissioning and Start-Up:                                  July 2028 – Oct 2028 Canal Canal Phase 2 Engineering:                                      Sept 2026 – Jan 2027 Phase 3 Engineering / Long Lead Procurement:   Feb 2027 - Aug 2027 Detailed Eng. & Construction:                                 Sept 2027 – Oct 2028 Commissioning and Start-Up:                                  Nov 2028 – Dec 2028 Requirements BS in Electrical Engineering Professional Engineering License in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred (Louisiana or Texas PE not specifically required) 10 Years engineering experience delivering capital projects with contract engineering firms and oversight of engineering teams Experience with retrofit projects in existing manufacturing plants Experience in engineering and design of medium (4160 V) and low (480 V, 220 V, and 110 V) systems for chemical processing equipment (Transformers, motors, heaters, instrumentation, etc.) is required Experience with motor controls and VFDs is desired Proficiency with ETAP software and models Experience with equipment in a hard asset manufacturing environment, chemical, oil & gas, cement, paper, etc. is preferred Experience with construction and equipment installation in chemical/oil & gas/cement/paper manufacturing plants is desired Experience with electrical equipment inspection, and installation is desired Experience collaborating with Process, Instrumentation & Controls, Civil/Structural/Architectural and Mechanical disciplines High level of proficiency with project controls (cost and schedule) programs Ability to travel to the Project sites, and Third-Party Engineering Firm offices Roles and Responsibilities The primary roles and responsibilities of the Electrical Project Engineer will be as follows: Provide technical leadership and oversight of the Third-Party Engineering Firm and its subcontractors throughout all phases of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup Coordinate with the project team, operations, and the Third-Party Engineering Firm to ensure effective communication and alignment of technical, scope, cost, schedule, and project execution activities Perform comprehensive technical reviews of electrical engineering deliverables, including but not limited to one-line diagrams, power distribution drawings, instrumentation wiring, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, hazardous area classification, specifications, calculations, studies, engineering reports, etc. to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, and engineering practices Review and approve equipment vendor documentation, calculations, electrical studies, fabrication drawings, and technical submittals to verify compliance with project specifications, design intent, operability, maintainability, and long-term system reliability Evaluate existing electrical infrastructure and systems, including but not limited to power distribution, transformers, MCCs, grounding, lighting, lightning protection, and utility capacity, to ensure seamless integration of new equipment while maintaining safe, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operations Verify compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations, and ensure engineering deliverables satis
