Technical Safety Engineer

Location: Yokohama, Japan Duration: 2 Years (Contract) We are seeking an experienced Technical Safety Engineer to support a major LNG development project during the Detailed Engineering phase. The successful candidate will work closely with EPC contractors and project stakeholders to ensure process safety requirements are incorporated into the design, risks are reduced to ALARP, and technical safety deliverables meet project and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Provide technical safety and process safety engineering support throughout detailed engineering. Participate in and review safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, and consequence assessments. Review fire protection, fire & gas detection, hazardous area classification, facility layout, escape and evacuation design. Ensure safety requirements are effectively integrated into engineering deliverables and vendor packages. Identify technical safety risks, gaps, and deviations, and drive timely resolution. Support SIMOPS assessments, management of change (MOC), technical assurance, and design reviews. Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and EPC contractors to promote safe and practical design solutions.
