Geophysicist (Basra, BA, IQ, 61006)

Job Duties Under broad direction from the Senior Geophysics Advisor and Integrated Asset Management's (IAM) senior management and with support from engineering and operations staff across all Halliburton product service lines (PSL): The Geophysics Advisor works within a senior multi- discipline petrotechnical team to develop and apply advanced techniques in support of the evaluation and development of potentially large, challenging oil and gas field development projects for prospective and/or acquired IAM investments. The Geophysics Advisor will support prospect evaluation and field development work by providing validation of preexisting interpretations as well as creating new interpretations (e.g., structure and isochron maps, anomaly maps, field pay responses, etc.). Additional responsibilities for this role include supporting IAM senior management in defining standardized, best practice processes to support the systematic, efficient and effective evaluation, well engineering, and field development planning work required as part of the project development process. As part of the IAM formal evaluation process, incumbents will participate in formal workshops with other key Halliburton technical resources in an environment that promotes innovation and input from all participants. In the process, the Geophysics Advisor will develop close working relationships with key technical and managerial staff working in various parts of Halliburton as well as with partner companies. The Geophysics Advisor will also peer review technical work by local asset team members. Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in Geophysics and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Geophysics, which includes experience in seismic reservoir characterization for conventional and unconventional play development, mature field development, and static geologic model building; management experience required.
