Category Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Category Management, you will provide specialist procurement advice, with a focus on mining services, while partnering with internal stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that support business objectives. Manage sourcing and tendering activities, including drafting, negotiating, and awarding contracts. Develop and implement contract management processes that maximise value and minimise risk. Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to drive performance and value creation. Develop and execute category strategies aligned with organisational objectives. Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for allocated categories and projects. Negotiate high-value and complex commercial agreements. Support governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives across procurement activities. Analyse procurement data and provide insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement. Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities, manage priorities, and deliver business outcomes. About Yo Strong procurement and category management experience. A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. Commercial acumen and strong negotiation capabilities. Sound understanding of procurement governance, processes, and risk management frameworks. Experience within mining, resources, engineering, industrial services, or a similar asset-intensive environment is highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline are desirable.
