ELECTRICIAN Papua LNG Project | Papua New Guinea Employer / Recruitment Partner: NES Fircroft Project: Papua LNG Location: Papua New Guinea Employment Type: Project / Contract Eligibility: Papua New Guinea Nationals Only About the Opportunity NES Fircroft is seeking experienced and motivated Electricians to support upcoming works associated with the Papua LNG Project in Papua New Guinea . This opportunity is exclusively available to PNG Nationals and is aimed at skilled tradespeople with previous experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, processing, major construction or similar heavy industrial environments. Successful candidates will work as part of a multidisciplinary construction and commissioning team and will be responsible for the safe installation, termination, testing and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures and project requirements. Key Responsibilities As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include: Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, termination drawings and equipment layouts. Install electrical equipment, cabling and associated infrastructure in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. Install cable ladder, cable tray, conduit and other cable support systems. Perform cable pulling, dressing, glanding and termination activities. Install and terminate low-voltage electrical equipment, distribution boards, junction boxes, control panels and associated components. Install lighting, small power, earthing and bonding systems. Install and connect motors, isolators and other electrical equipment as required. Perform cable continuity, insulation resistance and other electrical testing activities. Check electrical installations against drawings, cable schedules, specifications and project requirements. Assist with electrical equipment inspection, testing, energisation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities as required. Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical circuits and equipment. Identify and report damaged, defective or non-conforming electrical equipment, cables and materials. Complete relevant inspection, testing and quality documentation accurately. Use electrical test equipment, hand tools and power tools safely and correctly. Coordinate with Instrument Technicians, Mechanical Fitters, Pipe Fitters, riggers, supervisors and other disciplines to complete works safely and efficiently. Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas remain clean and safe. Participate in pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and other project safety activities. Follow all site Health, Safety, Security and Environment requirements. Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Electrical Supervisor or Superintendent. Qualifications & Experience Candidates should ideally have: Recognised electrical trade qualification, technical certificate or relevant vocational training. Previous experience as an Electrician within LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, processing, power generation or major industrial construction projects. Experience with industrial electrical installation, cable pulling, glanding and termination. Experience installing cable tray, cable ladder, conduit and electrical support systems. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules and termination drawings. Experience with electrical testing and fault-finding equipment. Good understanding of electrical isolation and safe working practices. Experience with motors, distribution equipment, lighting, small power, earthing and bonding systems. Knowledge of hazardous area electrical equipment and installation practices would be advantageous. Experience supporting electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities would be highly regarded. Strong commitment to workplace health and safety. Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural and multidisciplinary project team. Previous LNG or major oil & gas project experience will be highly regarded. Mandatory Requirements Applicants must: Be a Papua New Guinea Citizen / National. Hold valid identification and supporting documentation confirming PNG citizenship. Hold relevant electrical trade certificates, licences or competency documentation as required for the position. Be willing to work at designated project locations within Papua New Guinea. Be willing and able to work the project roster and scheduled working hours. Be medically fit to perform the inherent requirements of the role and successfully complete applicable pre-employment medical requirements. Comply with all project alcohol and other drug, safety, security and site access requirements.
