Document Control Specialist

Document Controller Location: Paris, France Contract Type: Contract Industry: Energy / Oil & Gas / Major Capital Projects Key Responsibilities Manage and control project documentation throughout its lifecycle. Ensure compliance with document control processes, procedures, standards, and project requirements. Review, register, distribute, track, and archive project documents within the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Maintain document registers, distribution matrices, and associated project records. Coordinate documentation activities with engineering teams, project stakeholders, and contractors. Verify document quality, completeness, coding, and metadata accuracy. Respond to document status requests and support information management queries. Assist with project handover and transfer of documentation to operational teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives and digitalisation of document management processes. Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental, and ethical standards. Requirements Essential Minimum 5 years' experience in Document Control within major engineering, energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects. Experience working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) . Strong knowledge of document control processes, workflows, and best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors. Fluent English communication skills. Desirable Experience supporting large EPC, construction, or capital projects. Previous operator or owner-side project experience. Additional language skills such as French or Portuguese. Exposure to project information management and handover processes.
