Overview The Manual lathe\milling Machinist II – Machine Shop responsible for machining, repairing, and refurbishing downhole tools, tubular products, and oilfield equipment using manual lathes. Performs API thread cutting, recutting, precision machining, inspection, and equipment maintenance while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate and set up manual lathe\milling machines. Machine, repair, and refurbish downhole tools and tubular products. Cut and recut API, premium, tubing, casing threads. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools. Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with API, quality, and safety requirements. Maintain production and inspection records. Support continuous improvement, 5S and operational efficiency initiatives. Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams. Skills Manual Lathe\milling Operations Precision Machining API 7-1, API 5CT & API 6A Downhole Tool Repair Tubing & Casing Threading Engineering Drawing Interpretation Precision Measurement & Inspection Micrometers & Verniers Machine Setup & Calibration Troubleshooting Preventive Maintenance Quality Control Oil & Gas Manufacturing Safety Compliance Qualifications Minimum High School, ITI, or Technical Diploma in a related field. Minimum 4 years of manual lathe\Milling machining experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Experience with API thread repair, downhole tools, and tubular products. Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work shift schedules and overtime as required.
