Construction Quality Welding Inspector

Responsible for inspecting welding activities and ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved welding procedures, applicable codes, quality standards, and HSE requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welding activities. Review and verify WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records (WQR). Verify welder qualifications and monitor welder testing where required. Identify welding defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances and follow up on corrective actions. Coordinate and monitor NDT activities, including RT, UT, PT, and MT. Monitor welding parameters, heat input, pre- and post-weld treatments, and compliance with approved WPS. Maintain inspection records, NCRs, corrective action records, and quality documentation. Prepare detailed welding inspection reports and provide updates on quality issues. Coordinate with welding teams, engineers, and other project stakeholders to resolve quality issues. Ensure compliance with applicable welding standards, project requirements, and safe working practices. Requirements: Diploma in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. CWI, CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent Welding Inspector certification. NDT certification is an advantage. Relevant experience in welding inspection within Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, FPSO, or Shipbuilding projects. Knowledge of SMAW, MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding processes. Good knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, and AWS standards. Strong inspection, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
