Company Profile: In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the U.S. through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer. This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (RRSNA) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027. RRSNA is seeking a Back Office & Market Operations Intern who will support the Energy Management and Market Operations team in several key areas, including settlement activities, market reporting, portfolio monitoring, and renewable energy certificate administration. This internship provides exposure to wholesale power markets, renewable energy operations, financial analysis, and commercial energy management practices. This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, in Downtown Houston. Key Responsibilities: Assist with reviewing physical and financial settlement data associated with energy market transactions. Support the reconciliation of settlement and invoicing information for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Help monitor power plant metering data and validate transactional information. Assist with preparing reports and analyses related to energy market performance and asset economics. Support monthly and quarterly business planning, forecasting, and performance tracking activities. Assist in analyzing variances between actual results and forecasted performance. Research and compile information on ERCOT market fundamentals, pricing trends, and market developments. Support portfolio monitoring activities by tracking position and exposure reports. Assist with Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) administration and tracking processes. Help maintain databases, reports, and operational records to support business decision-making. Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Requirements: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Business Administration Finance Economics Accounting Energy Management Data Analytics Engineering Or a related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
