Second Shift Shop Operations Supervisor - Manufacturing

Lead and supervise production operations to ensure efficient manufacturing of company products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive continuous improvement, develop team members, and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Second Shift: This is a second shift position. Start time will vary according to operational demands. Typical start time is 4:00 PM, followed by a 9-hour shift. Roles and Responsibilities Supervise daily production activities, establish work schedules, and monitor team performance to meet delivery commitments Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, quality standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory guidelines Plan production schedules, manage workflow bottlenecks, and requisition supplies to optimize efficiency Train, coach, and develop employees on safety procedures (JSAs), quality standards, and best operational practices Lead continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, LEAN manufacturing, scrap reduction, and productivity enhancements Monitor and control production costs, reduce variances, and manage departmental budgets effectively Conduct performance reviews, administer corrective actions, and participate in recruitment of production staff Provide regular reporting on key metrics including productivity, quality, output, and safety performance Foster effective communication with internal stakeholders and maintain a culture of accountability and excellence Skills / Education 5-7 years of manufacturing experience with 5+ years in machining operations 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience Strong machining and manufacturing process knowledge Proven ability to train, coach, and lead improvement activities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ability to manage budgets and control cost of goods sold Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and respond to emergency situations Associate degree or 2 years of college education Experience with time and attendance systems, JDE (or equivalent ERP), and LEAN methodologies #LI-KP1
