Power Project Engineer

Job Title: Power Project Engineer Duration: Initially 1-year Schedule: M-F (40/50 hrs per week) - Some overtime required Location: Spring, TX, US or Midland, TX, US This opportunity supports engineering design and project delivery within a high voltage electrical environment, with involvement across design evaluation, construction coordination, and project management systems. The role offers exposure to electrical substations, transmission line projects, and capital project execution, with responsibility for helping deliver work in line with project objectives, specifications, and standards. This position will also support technical problem-solving, contractor coordination, and transition management across project stages. Required Education: BS or MS degree in an engineering field Required Experience: Experience across engineering, construction, and project management and controls activities Prior experience supporting electrical substation and transmission line projects Minimum 5 years of experience in the high voltage electrical field and/or oil and gas industry Broad experience gained through multiple functional and project assignments Required Skills: Engineering design evaluation and project delivery within budget and scheduling restraints Knowledge of high voltage electrical facility design and associated U.S. regulations and standards, including NEC and API 14F Understanding of the selection and specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protective relays, and HV/MV power cables Knowledge of ERCOT and/or SPP grid design, operation, and capabilities Ability to support Invitation to Tender development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection Experience coordinating project issues resolution, change requests, and project stage transitions Strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, coordination, and planning skills Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities Excellent English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking Proficiency in MS Office suite Prior experience using PLS-CADD Preferred Qualifications: Strong preference for Electrical Engineering or a related field of study About Airswift: Airswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
