NES Fircroft is delighted to be partnering with a major Oil & Gas operator client who are looking to add an Onshore & Offshore Construction Lead to their major FPSO development. The role will be based from offices in London, UK. However the project will be based in North America. It will be a contract based role outside of IR35 for an initial 12 months duration to work Monday – Friday in the office with trips to other project locations as needed. To be considered candidates must have existing Right To Work in the UK. Overview of role Lead the onshore construction and offshore execution scope for the FPSO from fabrication and integration through sail-away, offshore installation, hook-up and pre-commissioning support. Own constructability, construction readiness, site execution performance and offshore hook-up delivery, ensuring the asset is completed safely, on schedule, within budget and in full compliance with Class, Flag, regulatory and Company requirements. Key Responsibilities Onshore Construction Direct hull and topsides construction, conversion or refurbishment activities at the yard, including structural steel, marine and hull systems, piping, E&I, module fabrication, lifting and integration. Drive constructability reviews and design-for-construction input during FEED and detailed engineering to eliminate rework and schedule risk. Monitor Contractor progress, manpower, productivity, sub-contractor performance and schedule float; escalate deviations with corrective action plans. Oversee mechanical completion, punch-list management, system handover and pre-commissioning readiness prior to sail-away. Offshore Installation & Hook-Up Plan and lead offshore installation, mooring hook-up, riser/umbilical pull-in, tie-ins, hook-up and commissioning support scopes. Review and approve marine warranty, tow-out, station-keeping, lifting and SIMOPS procedures; assure offshore construction readiness and POB/logistics planning. Lead the offshore construction team and interface with marine spread, installation contractors and vessel management. Interface Management Own construction-related interfaces across hull, topsides, mooring, SURF, drilling/subsea, operations and third-party vendors. Maintain the interface register, chair interface meetings and close out interface queries within agreed schedule milestones. Contract Management & Administration Administer EPC/EPCI and fabrication contracts: scope control, milestone certification, variation orders, back-charges, claims defence and close-out. Support tendering, technical bid evaluation and contracting strategy for construction and offshore installation packages. HSE & Quality Champion a visible safety culture across yard and offshore locations; ensure compliance with Company HSE policy, permit-to-work and lifting/marine operations standards. Ensure Class, Flag State and Coastal State compliance and full traceability of QA/QC and completions documentation. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering — Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering preferred. 25+ years' experience in the offshore oil and gas industry , with a substantial portion in senior construction leadership roles. Expert-level knowledge of FPSO design, engineering, construction, offshore installation and hook-up. Demonstrated delivery across new-build, conversion and redeployment FPSO projects. Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with hull structures and marine systems Proven track record in interface management across multi-contractor, multi-package project environments. Strong contract management and administration capability, including claims, variations and contractor performance management. Project execution experience across several geographic locations and yards. Fluency in English — spoken and written — with strong reporting and presentation skills. Proven ability to work effectively in multi-locational, multinational and multi-cultural execution environments. Valid offshore medical, BOSIET/HUET and travel readiness (or ability to obtain). Preferred Expert-level knowledge of mooring systems (spread, turret, internal/external, disconnectable) and mooring installation and hook-up. Experience with major Asian, middle eastern conversion/fabrication yards and international MWS/Class regimes. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional registration.
