Heat Treat Machine Operator

The Heat Treat Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring heat treatment equipment to ensure the efficient production of quality parts and components in accordance with established specifications and production schedules. This position involves adjusting machine settings, performing quality inspections, troubleshooting equipment issues, and conducting routine maintenance to minimize downtime and production defects. The operator also supports daily production activities, assists with employee training, and ensures compliance with all NOV company policies, safety standards, and HSE requirements.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES:

• Measure, mark, and record temperatures and reference points on materials or work pieces as well as select, align, and secure fixtures and stamp position numbers.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate Temps and pressures: speed, gas pressure, and part clearance, and enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit machine control programs.
• Manufacture parts and components within the specified tolerances, with limited scrap and in time with the production schedule
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls as required
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and quality standards
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
• Perform Helper duties such as stenciling, cleaning, and assisting the operators in the building to ensure production runs smoothly.
• Perform maintenance on all equipment to keep the operation running smoothly
• Train new employees and cross-train in other areas.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic computer skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to communicate and work safely in a team-oriented environment
