The IT department is seeking new candidates to its dynamic team. The department provides support worldwide to the Organizations all along the value chain from exploration through site development to production.
What role you will play in our team
The
Data Engineer
is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and platforms that support data-driven decision making across the organization.
This role focuses on ensuring data availability, quality, and reliability by integrating data from multiple sources and enabling efficient data processing and consumption. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, BI developers, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Based in Buenos Aires, you will collaborate with global teams and contribute to the evolution of modern data platforms and analytics capabilities.
While this description covers a broad range of technologies, we are hiring for multiple teams. We value strong experience in some of these areas and a willingness to learn others, you are not expected to meet every requirement to apply.
What you will do
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data integration workflows
• Ingest, transform, and optimize data from multiple sources and systems
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across data platforms
• Collaborate with data consumers (BI, analytics, business teams) to deliver usable datasets
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and data-related issues
• Contribute to data platform improvements, scalability, and performance
• Participate in Agile processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Support documentation and knowledge sharing for data solutions
About You
Required qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s degree
in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (must be graduated)
• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or related roles.
• Experience working with data processing and transformation (SQL and Python)
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks and/or Snowflake)
• Experience with data integration tools or platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory or similar)
• Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts
• Exposure to big data or distributed processing frameworks
• Basic understanding of APIs and data ingestion patterns
• Experience working with version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in Agile or collaborative environments
• Good English communication skills (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
• Experience with DBT
• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines, GitHub actions, YAML.
• General knowledge of PI historian technology
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
• Exposure to data governance, data quality, or metadata management
