Role: Offshore Field Engineer – S-Lay Pipelay Vessel Contract Duration: 6 months (renewable) Location: Afungi, Mozambique Start Date: Aug 2026 Work Schedule: 28 days on / 28 days off Elevate Your Career as Offshore Field Engineer – S-Lay Pipelay Vessel Overview Airswift is supporting a leading global energy operator in the recruitment of an Offshore Field Engineer – S-Lay Pipelay Vessel to join a major project in Mozambique. This role will be based offshore on pipelay vessels (Solitaire / Stingray), supporting the installation of subsea pipelines during a critical EPCI phase. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of offshore installation activities. Key Responsibilities Provide technical oversight of offshore pipelay operations, ensuring execution aligns with approved procedures and engineering specifications Support the Company Site Representative (CSR) in supervising installation activities onboard the vessel Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project standards, HSE, and QA/QC requirements Identify and manage technical deviations, ensuring proper Management of Change (MoC) processes are followed Participate in risk assessments, HAZIDs, SIMOPS, and technical reviews Interface with engineering, operations, QA/QC, and HSE teams to support installation execution Track installation progress and provide accurate daily reporting and handover between shifts Witness offshore activities and verify compliance with contractual and technical requirements Support project reporting systems and contribute to lessons learned and project close-out documentation Act as deputy for the CSR when required Project Scope Installation of multiple rigid subsea pipelines, including trunklines and MEG lines Shallow water and deepwater pipelay campaigns using S-lay technique Major LNG development: subsea-to-shore gas field, large-scale infrastructure and offshore installation Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, including offshore projects At least 5 years of experience with S-lay pipelay installation Strong experience in offshore installation, contractor supervision, and technical assurance Proven background in HSE and QA/QC compliance offshore Experience working on major EPCI/LNG projects is highly preferred Previous experience onboard installation vessels is essential Certifications Required Valid BOSIET Valid OGUK Medical Fitness for offshore work (OGUK-compliant) Key Skills Strong technical understanding of offshore pipelay operations Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced offshore environments Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills Strong reporting and communication capabilities Experience working in multicultural, international project teams About Airswift Airswift is a global workforce solutions provider specializing in the engineering and technology sectors.
