We are supporting a major offshore oil and gas development in Suriname and are looking for an experienced
Jetty Supervisor
to oversee marine logistics operations at the project's dedicated logistics base.
This is a key operational role supporting drilling, offshore installation, and future production activities. You will be responsible for coordinating all quay, jetty, and wharf operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels, personnel, equipment, and materials while maintaining the highest HSE and operational standards.
Working closely with marine, logistics, drilling, warehouse, and contractor teams, you will play a vital role in supporting offshore operations and maintaining uninterrupted supply chain activities.
The Role
As the focal point for all jetty and quayside activities, you will manage vessel movements, cargo operations, SIMOPS coordination, lifting activities, and marine logistics planning, ensuring operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Marine & Jetty Operations
Coordinate all quay, jetty, and wharf activities supporting offshore drilling and production operations
Manage vessel berthing, loading, unloading, and backloading activities
Liaise with vessel Masters to ensure safe and efficient cargo operations
Coordinate simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) at the quayside
Maintain vessel look-ahead planning in collaboration with marine logistics teams
Coordinate logistics equipment and resources to support offshore operations
Lead pre-loadout meetings and post-operation reviews to drive continuous improvement
Ensure accurate recording of all material movements and operational activities
Cargo & Logistics Coordination
Verify cargo documentation including manifests, delivery notes, dangerous goods declarations, MSDS, and certificates of conformity
Ensure cargo packaging, securing, and sea-fastening comply with IMDG and IMO requirements
Coordinate the transfer of materials to warehouse teams and end users
Allocate and supervise riggers, banksmen, stevedores, and lifting personnel
Monitor contractor performance across logistics base operations
Coordinate activities with third-party contractors including tubular yards, well services, and logistics providers
HSE & Compliance
Promote a strong safety culture across all marine and logistics operations
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
Ensure compliance with lifting management procedures and verify lifting equipment certification
Monitor the safe handling, storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous materials
Participate in Permit to Work meetings and act as Performing Authority where required
Support oil spill response, bunkering operations, and Man Overboard (MOB) drills
Exercise Stop Work Authority where unsafe conditions or non-compliance are identified
Promote environmental best practices, including waste reduction and recycling initiatives
Candidate Profile
Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Marine Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline
10+ years' experience
in marine logistics, port operations, or offshore supply base operations within the oil & gas industry
Previous experience supervising jetty, quay, or offshore logistics base operations
Strong knowledge of:
Marine logistics and vessel operations
Offshore supply chain activities
Lifting operations and cargo handling
IMDG and IMO regulations
Permit to Work and SIMOPS management
Experience working with offshore support vessels, drilling campaigns, or production operations
Strong leadership and contractor management skills
Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Fluent in English
