C&I Systems Specialist - Milan Location: Milan, Italy Contract: 18-Month Contract Working Pattern: Residential, 5 Days per Week / 8 Hours per Day Rate: Hourly Rate We are supporting a major water handling facility project and are looking for an experienced C&I Systems Specialist to join the project team in Milan. The role will support the project through the Detailed Design and EPC phase, providing specialist expertise across Control & Instrumentation systems and working closely with the wider multidisciplinary engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced C&I professional to work on a major international industrial project, supporting the development and delivery of complex control and instrumentation systems. The Role As C&I Systems Specialist, you will provide technical support across the instrumentation and control systems scope, ensuring that system requirements are effectively coordinated and incorporated throughout the detailed design and EPC phases. You will work closely with engineering disciplines, EPC contractors, vendors, and the wider project team to ensure C&I systems are delivered in accordance with project requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for Control & Instrumentation systems throughout the Detailed Design and EPC phases Review and coordinate C&I engineering deliverables Support the development and review of instrumentation and control system specifications Coordinate C&I interfaces with process, mechanical, electrical, piping, and other engineering disciplines Review vendor documentation and technical submissions Support the resolution of technical queries and engineering issues Ensure C&I design activities are aligned with project requirements and applicable standards Participate in design reviews and technical meetings Support EPC contractor activities and monitor C&I engineering progress Coordinate with vendors and contractors on C&I equipment and systems Support project engineering teams through procurement and EPC execution Provide technical input into testing, commissioning, and system handover activities where required Candidate Profile Degree or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline Strong experience within C&I engineering on major industrial, energy, infrastructure, or water projects Proven experience with control and instrumentation systems Experience working through Detailed Design and EPC phases Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces Experience reviewing engineering and vendor documentation Previous experience working with EPC contractors and equipment vendors Strong technical coordination and communication skills Good English language skills
