Responsibilities Supervisory responsibilities:
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Process Optimization & Lifecycle: Manages the M-BOM, New Product Release (NPR) process, and Engineering Change Requests/Notices (ECR/ECN).
Automation & Robotics: Leads the design, controls programming, and implementation of robotics and custom machinery to enhance plant production flow.
Strategic Planning: Collaborates with Product Management and leadership to set priorities and ensure the feasibility of manufacturing new designs.
Operational Efficiency: Manages time and labour routing, SOP creation, and Pre-Fab production programming to reduce costs and improve throughput.
Capital Projects (CAPEX): Develops machinery specifications for CAPEX spend; coordinates plant renovations, expansions, and oversees outside contractors/vendors.
Quality & R&D: Oversees the Quality group and works with product designers and R&D to ensure prototypes meet production standards before full-scale release.
Safety & Maintenance: Ensures all machinery and operations comply with local regulations; assists with service scheduling and maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
Performs other duties as assigned.
